Clara Luciani

Clara Luciani is a prominent French singer-songwriter who has become a leading figure in contemporary French pop. Born in July 1992 in Martigues, she grew up in the suburbs of Marseille and initially pursued studies in art history before moving to Paris to launch her musical career. Before finding major success, she worked a variety of jobs, including stints as an English teacher and a pizza chef. Her early professional musical experience included performing as a vocalist for the psych-punk band La Femme and forming the duo Hologram with Maxime Sokolinski.

Her solo career reached a turning point in 2018 with the release of her debut studio album, Sainte-Victoire. The album was anchored by the massive success of the single "La Grenade," which was widely embraced for its themes of female empowerment and its catchy, disco-influenced rhythm. This debut earned her critical acclaim and commercial success, leading to her first Victoires de la Musique award for "Live Revelation" in 2019, followed by the "Female Artist of the Year" award in 2020. Luciani’s music is often noted for its rich, contralto vocals and a style that blends nostalgic 1960s yé-yé influences with modern arrangements.

In 2021, Luciani solidified her status as a pop icon with her second album, Cœur, which leaned further into danceable, "disco-chic" sounds and topped the French charts. The album was followed by her third studio work, Mon Sang, released in late 2024, which showcased a more introspective and rock-influenced direction. Beyond her musical output, she has expanded her artistic reach into cinema, with a debut role in the film Joli Joli. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to writing and singing in her native French, viewing the language as an essential vehicle for the personal and intimate nature of her songwriting.
