The state policy of the Republic of Belarus in the field of social protection of people with disabilities is aimed at ensuring their full participation in public life, guaranteeing respect for human rights and equal access of people with disabilities, along with other citizens, to health care, education and free choice of employment. On June 30, 2022, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Law “On the Rights of People with Disabilities and Their Social Integration”, implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in national legislation.
As part of the press event, competent speakers discussed the planned changes in legislation for the social support of people with disabilities and the effectiveness of existing laws, as well as to answer the questions: What is the level of involvement of people with disabilities in the life of society?
