流浪地球2 is a Chinese science fiction film directed by Frant Gwo, the sequel to the 2019 film ”The Wandering Earth”. The screenplay was written by Gong Ge’er with Frant Gwo. The main actors are Andy Lau, Wu Jing and Li Xuejian.
The film takes place before the events of the first film and focuses on humanity’s early efforts to build the giant planetary engines and solve the logistical and technological problems of the Wandering Earth project. In addition to the technical challenges, the world faces geopolitical conflicts, social crises and moral dilemmas related to the fate of humanity.
In the foreground are engineers, scientists and political leaders who make decisions and must make enormous sacrifices to guarantee the success of the plan. At the same time, resistance groups arise that oppose the project, arguing that saving the planet should be approached differently.
