Viktor Robertovich Tsoi
Viktor Robertovich Tsoi (Russian: Виктор Борисович Цой, June 21, 1962, Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR – August 15, 1990, km 35 of the Sloka-Talsi highway, Tukums district, Latvian SSR, USSR) – Soviet rock musician, composer, poet, artist and film actor. He is known as the founder and leader of the rock group "Kino", but before that, he was the founder of the groups Camera No. 6 and Garin and the Hyperboloids (Гарин и Гиперболоиды) and was also a member of the group Automatic Satisfiers (Автоматические одновленители).
In addition to musical activities, he starred in eight films. After playing the role of Moreau in the film "Needle" (1988), the magazine "Soviet Screen" considered Tsoi the best actor of 1989.
On August 15, 1990, Tsoi died in a car accident on the 35th kilometer of the Sloka-Talsi highway in the Tukums region of the Latvian SSR. According to the official version, he fell asleep at the wheel.
