Between July 2 and 3, 2024, the 2nd International Conference of the Iran-Pakistan Academic and Cultural Dialogue was organized in Islamabad, Pakistan. It was held at Allama Iqbal Open University, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The event was attended by delegates from six Iranian universities and 20 representatives of Pakistani universities.

The Iranian delegation consisted of the President of Qom University, Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Hossein Sharifi, the President of Buali University, Sina Dr. Hossein Rezvani, the founder of the University of Religions and Denominations, Seyyed Abul Hassan Nawab, the President of Hakim Sabzevari University, Dr. Mohammad Ali Zanganeh Asadi and the Vice President of Azad Islamic University, Dr. Ali Sarvari Majd.

The conference aimed to lead to a development of academic, research and cultural relations between Pakistan and Iran. The participants exchanged views on the importance of scientific communication between the academic and cultural centers of the two countries.

Dr. Ali Sarvari Majd highlighted the expansion of scientific cooperation between Iranian universities and Pakistan in a meeting with the President of the University of Punjab.

Khalid Mahmood, president of the University of Punjab, expressed his intention to collaborate with the University of Religions and other higher education institutions in Iran.

On July 1, the Iran-Pakistan Conference for Scientific and Cultural Dialogue was also organized.
