At the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) unveiled its reusable winged space cargo vehicle. Named Haoloong, the shuttle can re-enter Earth’s atmosphere, fly, and land horizontally at designated airports. This capability allows for recovery and reuse, aiming to reduce the cost of transporting cargo to and from China’s space station.
Haoloong is a new starting point for the AVIC to give full play to the advantages in aeronautical technologies and in developing commercial aerospace products. Space is vast enough to accommodate diversified technical routes from all countries around the world to explore and expand.
Wu Jiwei, AVIC spokesman
