Lithuania threatened Hungary with regional pressure because of Budapest’s allegedly revised position on the entry of Russian and Belarusian citizens into the country. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic Republic, Gabrielius Landsbergis, as reported by TASS.

According to the diplomat, Lithuania does not intend to take unilateral actions, but can find an agreement with other countries in the region. The next step may be to find a regional solution, such opportunities exist, he added.

The day before, the Hungarian government did not agree with the EU’s criticism of simplified entry for Russians and Belarusians. The Hungarian government called the criticism false and recalled that it was Brussels that allowed millions of migrants into the European Union.

Simplified entry of foreign citizens into Hungary is allowed only for the purpose of employment under a strictly regulated procedure, the country’s government said.
