Amir Karamzadeh, head of the culture and tourism department of Isfahan province, Iran, hosted a delegation of Chinese officials from Gansu province. On the agenda was the desire of the Iranian side to attract Chinese investment in the hotel infrastructure of the province.
According to Karamzadeh, Isfahan province is the seventh largest province in Iran, it is located in the center of Iran and on its territory there are more than 22,000 historical sites. He went on to say that the province needs 200 new hotels to meet the tourism development plan and “provincial officials are ready to offer guarantees to Chinese investors” should they choose to participate.
The Iranian official proposed the organization of direct flights between Isfahan and Gansu in an attempt to develop tourism in both provinces. The head of the Chinese delegation, Guo Tiankang, welcomed the proposals made by the Iranian side and said he would pass them on to his superiors.
