Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press conference on July 15 that Beijing is ready to cooperate with President Peseshkian’s government. He spoke in laudatory terms about an article by Masoud Pezeshkian recently published in the Tehran Times.

In that material, Iran’s president said that the Islamic Republic is “deeply interested” in friendship with China, “appreciates China and is willing to cooperate more widely with China on the path to achieving the new world order.”

Lin Jian said that “the friendly relations between our two countries date back several centuries. Over the past 50 years, bilateral relations have enjoyed stable growth.” He stressed that the two countries support each other in the context of a complex regional and international landscape.
