Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on all parties influencing the situation in the Middle East not to allow actions that could lead to further destabilization of the situation. The minister made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani.
The parties condemned the assassination of the head of the Hamas politburo in Tehran during his stay at the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Pezeshkian. The unacceptability of political assassinations and the extremely dangerous consequences of such actions, fraught with a sharp escalation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and a landslide degradation of the regional situation, were indicated.
