On Tuesday, October 1st, Iran launched hundreds of missiles toward Israel’s military and intelligence bases in a retaliatory attack dubbed ”Operation True Promise II”, which set off sirens all over the occupied Palestinian territories and resulted in hundreds of explosions across the country.

Flares and missiles were seen in the Tel Aviv sky and explosions could be heard in the occupied al-Quds, while “direct hits” were reported in Negev, Sharon, and other locations.

The operation came in response to the regime’s assassinations of Hamas’ chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

Over 180 balistic missiles have been confirmed by the Israeli military, most of them breaking through Israel’s anti-air defence systems, although the Israeli military is reluctant to acknowledge the damage.

Pezeshkian’s statements just before the retaliation against Israel

Iran will stand with strength against cruelty and crime.

President Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian underlined that ”if the arrogant powers (referring mainly to the US) think that with the assassination of the generals and fighters of the resistance, the war against cruelty, aggression and crime will be silenced, they are totally wrong and we will stand against cruelty and crime with strength and we are sure that our brothers and all the Muslims and free people of the world do not remain silent in the face of oppression”.

During his presence at the office of the Hezbollah movement in Tehran and on the sidelines of paying tribute to martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other martyrs of this movement, President Pezeshkian made the remarks in a short interview with Al-Manar TV channel.

The president stated that today the arrogant system has changed the meaning and usage of words with the help of its media empire, that ”they name terrorists and murderers as the saviors, and people who support humanity and the oppressed as terrorists”.

Our words for such people are the same words of Imam Hossein (AS) who said: ”if you don’t have a religion, at least be free in your life”, fight in the field, not killing women, children, old and young, bombing schools, hospitals or shelters with the help of technology.

Masoud Pezeshkian

On Sunday night, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the crimes committed by the Zionist regime cannot be accepted and will not go unanswered.

Iran’s ambassador to the UN

Iran will serve further Israeli aggression with harsher response.

Amir Saeid Iravani

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has warned that in the event the regime [Israel] repeated its illegal actions against the country, the Islamic Republic’s response ”response will be expedient, decisive, and harsher than the past”. “Iran will not hesitate in this regard,” he added.

Iravani reminded that Iran’s response took place in line with its right to legitimate self-defense and came after a long period of self-restraint, noting that this pointed to the Islamic Republic’s responsible approach towards the issue of regional and international peace and security.

The response, meanwhile, only targeted the regime’s military and security installations, he concluded, contrasting the reprisal with Tel Aviv’s way of striking civilians and civilian targets.

Iran army statements

Wait for it.

Abdolrahim Mousavi

“Wait for it,” Iranian Army Chief Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said, commenting on the Islamic Republic’s response to the Israeli regime. “What the enemies say is mostly based on psychological operations,” the major general added on Monday, prior to Iran’s retaliation.

The Zionists are trying to present the image of a victory to their masters and people to help the criminal Netanyahu survive, however, they are moving toward destruction very fast.

Abdolrahim Mousavi

Reacting to the Israeli act of terror, high-ranking Iranian officials vowed to give a proper response to the Zionist regime, with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei saying, that by assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, the Israeli regime has prepared the ground for harsh punishment for itself.

Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri said the country exercised self-restraint after the Israeli regime’s aggression against the country in July but ran out of patience following its assassination of Hezbollah’s secretary general and a top Iranian commander. He made these remarks on Wednesday, following Operation True Promise II.

After Martyr Haniyeh’s assassination, Iran went through a tough period of self-restraint amid repeated requests by the Americans and Europeans, who asked us to exercise self-restraint so they can establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. However, after Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s and [Brigadier] General [Abbas] Nilforoushan’s martyrdom, the situation was no longer tolerable,

Mohammad Baqeri

Baqeri named the main targets as the headquarters of the Mossad spy agency, which he identified as the “center for terrorism,” the Nevatim airbase that houses F-35 warplanes, and the Hatzerim base that was used towards enabling Nasrallah’s assassination. The targets also featured strategic radars, the centers housing tanks and personnel carriers as well as barracks.

The military chief asserted that the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces are completely prepared to respond to the potential repetition of atrocities on the part of the Israeli regime, describing Iran’s capabilities as “many times more than” what was displayed during True Promise II.

If the Zionist regime, which has reached madness, is not controlled by the United States and Europe, and will want to either continue its atrocities or take action against our territorial integrity and sovereignty, tonight’s operation would be repeated with multiple magnitude and all of their infrastructure will be struck.

Mohammad Baqeri

IRGC comments

We have targeted the heart of the occupied territories, and Israel’s response will be met with crushing attacks.

Israel’s perspective

Israeli political leaders reacted to what they called a “declaration of war” by Iran on Tuesday night. National Unity MK Benny Gantz said, “The state of Israel has capabilities that were developed for years to strike Iran, and the government has full backing to act with force and determination.”

Yair Golan said that the missile attack was a “declaration of war” but said that Israel should not be hasty. Israel should “ensure that an attack against Iran will be coordinated with the Americans and regional forces in order for the response to be decisive, precise, and effective,” Golan said.
